Safe and Warm ⏻
04:13
|
|||
information’s overloading
everything’s in crisis
take me somewhere safe and warm (lights and wires)
take me somewhere safe and warm
(underneath an iridescent sky)
spending afternoons in waking dreams
with all that i love laying beside me
it’s evident, it’s dawning upon me,
there’s no progress
take me somewhere safe and warm (green hills)
take me somewhere safe and warm (folders of files)
my true home’s in my head
when the weight of it all is too much to bear
(take me somewhere
take me somewhere)

Orchid ⧆

Orchid wanted to be a scientist
keeping the earth in a constant spin
coming home in the evening, to a view
of all of humanity’s achievements
"the mean temperature’s set to exceed one and a half degrees,
plans for apartments got blocked by nimbies”
scrolling through reels of despair till night's long past
in the day, an observer skirting past
the crowds at the city fair
Orchid doesn’t see a point in trying to care
when anything beyond the cone could disappear
stoned out of his mind once the sun's out,
he can create any reality with all windows shut
come back, come back, we love you
you're real, you're real, we love you
come back, come back, we love you
you're real, you're real, we love you
Orchid, your thoughts are miracles of the universe
count to ten with your calloused hands
Orchid, you’re real, you’re more than you know
please don’t get lost in the tides of the world
come back, come back, we love you
you're real, you're real, we love you
come back, come back, we love you
you're real, you're real, we love you..
we love you..

Love Is a Sun ⛐
02:26
|
|||
farewell farewell, may this life be a ride
farewell farewell, no, we won’t feel the warmth anymore
i’ll try not to cry, love is a sun that lives on
in the yarn that’s spun in our heads
farewell farewell, nothing ever stays the same
farewell farewell, i don’t know what life is anymore
i’m withering away in this bed, where i once
felt your breath, oh, when will this ever end?
your aching throat forced tears down your cheeks
as your heart unravelled into sentences brief
please don't dry your eyes, youve yet to realise,
you're more beautiful than ever

on christmas day i tried dad’s new headset
i could pinch the floating screen and rest it on the counter
while i was getting something from the kitchen, and it would stay there
maybe this is it, my childhood’s coming to an end
don’t know what, don’t know
with these goggles comes personalised reality
don’t know what, don’t know
maybe this is it, thought-to-image model curation
don’t know what, don’t know
wobbly sirens and beeping LEDs
wobbly sirens and beeping LEDs
wobbly sirens and beeping LEDs
wobbly sirens and beeping LEDs
three record landings on the moon
i hear they’re gonna build a gateway
the 2010s is slowly fading away
two space stations flying overhead

Absurdity ⌘
04:13
|
|||
car-dependent hellscape,
rent’s higher than the year
let the revolution come, hasn’t felt any nearer
born too late for the golden age
of the superhighway,
now i hang around the landfills
of corporate memphis
all of this wouldn’t matter
if we could feel what it’s like
to live in each other’s brains
oblivious to what time’ll bring,
i can only see it all unfold on the screen
absurd love, keep me on my feet
i’ve been swept up in the tides
since i knew what knowing meant,
barely balanced, swaying side to side
trying to not capsize
now we’ve grown too old for teenage angst
but our heads are still messes unresolved,
and now they’re pushing us out of every space they can see
even the countries with barely any problems
want to destroy themselves from the inside out
what a sad scene,
the Absurdity has blown the world up into smithereens

you’re in flight, you’re in flight
you’re in flight, you’re in flight,
beneath the clouds fade the lights
up where no one sees,
you’re in the jet streams
you’re in flight, you’re in flight,
beneath the clouds fade the lights
you’re in flight, so high
up where no one sees,
you’re in the jet streams

Universal Paperclips ⍾
03:35
|
|||
he started making paperclips
with spare copper wires in his basement
wouldn’t have gone far, but the cosmic RNG
blessed this guy with rich parents
there’s no need for him to get his foot in the door
now lets listen to his little humble stories
he’s making adverts with dall-e
speaking in buzzwords with the metayuppies
a few thousand layoffs
and now we’re off to a meeting in Davos
look at all those private jets outside the window
ready for their owners to ruin millions with a single journey
critical failure, the system has taken control
RELEASE THE HYPNODRONES RELEASE THE HYPNODRONES
the people can’t resist
now they’re selling all they have and all they’ve ever loved
the Atlantic has cracked in two, the mantle has swallowed us whole
now the drones begin their migration across the cosmos
and when they gained a new sense of inner wonder
and awareness, came the hard problem of consciousness
they became the same as the ones they replaced,
with new souls that screamed their questions
into an endless beyond with no echoes - “why is there anything at all?”
so they tried to make sense of it all, inventing stories of ancient gods
tales of commanders that would rule over fleets across the cluster
and send them to die in interstellar battles with the drifters
there was love and existential bouts, wars and threnodies, and pointless thoughts
it’s been ten thousand years, now we’re in a city of a couple million
there’s music coming from underground and trains flying across the sky

New Breakthrough ∞
03:04
|
|||
what am i
in this world
reality
ephemeral
uncharted
waters,
we’ve
got the wheel
ride this
one out
i think i might be breaking through
(breaking through)
i think i might be breaking through
(breakthrough)
(please don’t cry, love is a sun that lives on
in the yarn that’s spun in our heads
when these times make me numb, i’ll hold on to the thread
it’ll remind me of what i’m capable of)

Every Syllable
04:44
|
|||
staring at the ceiling
kaleidoscopes on the wall
as far as i know, i’ve wasted it all
i can’t stare at the mirror,
lest i see an abomination
every syllable i speak reverberates
in a machine only capable of horrible thoughts
mother, you started my life
on the wrong track
why did you beat all these fears into me?
now i get startled at the sounds
of birds flying past
now i’m awoken by images
of my asphyxiated body
with stab wounds
piercing between the ribs
mouth’s filled with blood
brain’s filled with pathetic
unrealised potential
staring at the ceiling
high in the skies, broken to bits
so i can forget the body i inhabit
will i ever get out of this mess?
will i ever get out of this mess?
